- Welcome -

We enthusiastically welcome you to 19th Symposium for Gene・Design and Delivery in Chiba University.

In 2018, this annual symposium was first held as an international program. I learned that international interactions can be quite exciting, and also that such meetings are important opportunities for young scientist (including students) to present their data and to discuss them in English. Thus, I will organize the 19th Symposium for Gene・Design and Delivery as international conference. I hope very much that this will be a good opportunity to establish an international collaboration and communication.

The theme for this symposium is “Innovation of NEXT-Generation Medical Principal Stand on the Delivery Technology”. It will be a good chance to share groundbreaking ideas and discuss new developments concerning strategies for overcoming intractable diseases, drug discovery and related issues. We also hope that you will learn some pioneering technologies that are at the forefront of DDS research, cell therapy and immunotherapy.

Also, we invited 6 distinguished speakers including 2 foreign scientists: Dr. Sherry Wu (School of Biomedical Sciences, The University of Queensland) and Dr. Amanda W. Lund (Department of Cell, Developmental and Cancer Biology, Oregon Health and Science University). Based on their presentations, you will be able to obtain deep insights on the Exosome-based delivery technology, and novel drug target in lymphatic system.

This symposium is just a 1-day program. However, I believe that we will be able to overview cutting-edge technologies and current DDS topics. We hope that this symposium will stimulate your imagination concerning future medication.
